Learn and share songs from the Middle East with other local musicians in this fun and practical music workshop led by Marouf Majidi

Do you play music or sing? Want to meet other local musicians and learn new music together?

Learn and share songs from the Middle East with other local musicians in this fun and practical world music workshop by Dash Arts, led by Marouf Majidi. Bring your instrument and get ready to jam.

Anyone who lives in Oxford and has some prior musical skill is welcome. Places are limited. Participants have the opportunity to perform the songs they have learnt together at an informal sharing with an audience at the end of the workshop.

This workshop and Marouf Majidi's evening performance at the Covered Market are part of Dash Arts' project Dido's Bar, exploring migration, identity and Europe, culminating in a music theatre production that will tour to Oxford in Autumn 2022.

They both take place in celebration and anticipation of Little Amal passing through Oxford on the 26th October. Little Amal is Good Chance Theatre's 3.5 metre-tall puppet of a refugee girl, representing all displaced children as she walks 8,000km from Turkey to the UK.
