Emotive chamber pop meets folk

THIS IS A "BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE" EVENT - THERE WILL BE NO DRINKS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE, BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING YOUR OWN. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLEAR UP ANY RUBBISH.

The Irrepressibles, brainchild of contemporary composer Jamie Irrepressible, are celebrated for their unique brand of orchestral pop, which appeals to lovers of classical, folk, indie and alternative. We'll be returning to the atmospheric St Barnabas Church, a perfect setting for one of their most intimate, informal shows. In his newest songs and instrumental compositions, Jamie leans further into his folk influences, while exploring a wide range of lyrical themes.

This UK tour accompanies the release of their secret EP of new tracks oriented around the piano. The new 5 track EP will be released in September 2023 on Of Naked Design recordings. Previous The Irrepressibles albums Mirror Mirror and Nude can give you an idea of the treat you’ve got in store. The new release develops elements of these albums, and blends alternative folk with chamber pop to create something that's hard to capture in words.

The show is accompanied by an 8-piece band (including Jamie):

Piano & Mandolin & Acoustic Guitar - Jamie Irrepressible

Violin - Elliot Lyte

Viola - Charlotte Stock

Cello - Rebecca Thomas

Double Bass - Alice Phelps

Clarinet & Backing Vocals  - Anja Kadir

2nd piano, Clarinet, Organ & Backing Vocals - Sarah Kershaw

Folk Kit & Percussion - Thomas Twemlow

Support: pecq

Indie electronic duo pecq will be performing stripped back arrangements of their songs on piano and modular synth. Dreamy soundscapes, ethereal vocals and spiralling piano melodies.

Co-promoted with Irregular Folks.
