OCM has an open call for project proposals.
The offer: Oxford Contemporary Music (OCM) are looking to contribute £3,000 to support the creation of a new sound installation/artwork. We will support producing, writing funding bids and linking up with other presentation partners.
Desired Outcomes: Research and Development of a sound installation or piece of work that involves music that leads to public presentation opportunities this year/early next year in the UK.
Music/sound must be the primary artform but we are also interested in multidisciplinary work. The listener experience should be at the heart of the work and we want to create memorable and meaningful experience for audiences. We are committed to producing work that appeals and is accessible to a wide diversity of audiences.
We understand the financial support we’re offering won’t be enough alone to develop and present any new ideas fully. This opportunity is to add value and support to a new or existing project with funding already in place, or a plan for achieving additional funds (that we can help with) in developing a new piece. OCM’s Producer will be able to support development ideas and help realise any new work. Applicants can be based anywhere in the UK.
The work should aim to be presented in the public realm (for example outdoors, in shopping centres or other locations accessible to the public on a daily basis). The aim would be to facilitate the development of a concept, allowing you to utilise OCM’s networks, and create relationships for the potential of new performance opportunities and development of the work. You’ll be able to use this as match funding for other bids you might be considering.
Eligibility:
UK based artists or organisations who are based in the UK, with the right to work in the UK.
Artists, or organisations working with an artist, should have a track record of at least one commission that was presented to the public. The application should have plans to deliver at least a sharing, or a finished piece, by the end of the year, somewhere in the UK.
This opportunity is best for those who may already be planning a funding bid or working with partners to add value. Showing support or potential presentation opportunities already being planned will add strength to the application.
OCM can provide additional access provisions should it be required, either through the application process or with the making of the work. We are an inclusive organisation and encourage applications from the global majority, those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, and anyone who may require additional support. We know the strongest work is created when opportunities are inclusive and accessible so please let us know if there’s anything we can do to improve this on victoria@ocmevents.org or if you have any questions about the opportunity at all.
Deadline: Monday 12 June, 5pm
For full details of the call and the application process, you can either download the pdf document on this page, or watch the embedded video on this page, which provides the same information. For any questions or comments, please contact victoria@ocmevents.org. We look forward to receiving applications.
