The Oxford Playhouse was founded in the 1920s, since then it has been associated with the launch of many stellar careers and productions. Such famous actors as John Gielgud, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Ronnie Barker and Dirk Bogarde have performed there. It is a plush proscenium arch theatre with stalls and a gallery and seats 610 people.
