OCM's autumn 2009 season is an eclectic selection of some of the most inspiring and inspired musical creativity from around the world.
Simphiwe Dana // Fri 30 October 09

We have a focus on composers this autumn including a new piece of music by Robert Jarvis broadcast on BBC Radio Oxford. There are multimedia shows by Paul Whitty and Andrew Poppy and new music by young New York composer Lukas Ligeti whose remarkable recent album Afrikan Machinery draws on his many collaborations with African musicians. African music features highly this season with two shows that promise to be full of power and passion; Staff Benda Bilili, the incredible street buskers from Kinshasa, and the revolutionary soul music of South African Simphiwe Dana. Our early evening events at Modern Art Oxford also showcase some amazing homegrown talent including Seb Rochford and Paddy Steer, both with exciting new collaborations. I hope you'll come and sample some of our autumn offerings.
