World Mental Health Day 2009

Oxford and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust 

OCM worked with Artscape to bring music to the Oxford and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust on World Mental Health Day in 2009.

Following the success of the Artscape Music Festival in 2008 OBMH wanted to use World Mental Health Day as a focus for music in the trust. Philippa Berry and Nature Boy aka Dave Noble, played in wards across Oxfordshire to over 100 service users and staff.

Beautiful acoustic music filled day rooms and corridors across the trust bringing smiles and applause from the impromptu audiences. Several people felt moved to dance and join in as well as performing their own songs to the musicians. The event highlights the transformative quality of music and OCM hope to continue to work with Artscape in the future.
