Warneford Chapel: Lisa Fitzgibbon and Duotone

Tue 3rd August, 7pm /  Warneford Chapel

Music that speaks through volumes and through whispers

Lisa Fitzgibbon and Duotone join us for the second of our special Warneford Chapel concerts. Be acoustically awed by two captivating individuals who draw you into their own worlds of music.

Australian born folk powerhouse Lisa Fitzgibbon has a tough outer core but a heart of gold. Her exquisite vocals combine beautifully with vulnerable but powerfully gutsy songwriting. For this concert she will be joined by her band the PowerFolk Quartet.

Duotone provides his own band by way of cello and guitar . The ebb and flow of his subtle texturing of sound, delicate riffs and frail haunting vocals creates ethereal and captivating songs.

In 2004 OCM presented Siren for the first time at Upper Heyford Airforce base. The piece is a whirling, spinning spectacle of mechanical movement, electronic sound and light. It went on to be selected for the British Council showcase in Edinburgh. International promoters have since taken Siren to festivals in Europe, the United States, New Zealand, and it has just returned from Australia.

OCM Spring Season

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The exhilarating freshness of spring is irresistable and it's the essence of our new season. We start with the emerging talent on our doorstep at the OCM Open.  Then there's epic popsters Efterklang taking new musical directions, Graham Fitkin's newly formed band and a long awaited album from Spiro (16 years!)  For something utterly cutting edge we've got a world premiere at the Diamond Light synchrotron from Michael Zev Gordon with his composition based on the hunt for a gene for musical talent.  Janek Schaefer's joyous Lucky Dip Disco is one of three events at Modern Art Oxford, and there's much more... but we'll let you discover that yourself - visit the events page.
