OCM wouldn't be able to do the work it does without its loyal group of volunteers and we always need more. The things we ask our volunteers to do break down into two main areas:

Stewarding at Our Events

Taking tickets, directing people to their seats, helping to run the bar, encouraging audience members to sign up to our mailing list or helping to run the box office on the night (not all at once!).

Poster/Brochure Distribution

Helping to distribute our brochures, flyers and posters. This can be in your place of work, your college/school/university and/or your local area.

What You Get

For every concert you work you get tickets for yourself and one other person to another of our concerts. For each batch of print you distribute you get a further 2 tickets to one of our concerts. All these can be used for one concert or can be spread across several (subject to availability).

 

Volunteers have the chance to meet the artists and experience concert promotion first hand. Many people who have stewarded for us have gone on to work in the music industry and their experience with us has proved to be an invaluable first step in their career. These have included jobs with BBC, record labels and production companies.

 

We also try and make being a volunteer as fun as possible with social events etc.

 

If you sign up to be a volunteer there is no compulsion to work at all our concerts or spend your entire spare time putting up posters! Just do as much as you feel you can.
