Mesmerizing melodies, haunting tones, and a distinctive Nordic folk sensibility are transformed and integrated into a highly original universe.
After emerging as a quietly bewitching and internationally best-selling new star since his visit in 2005, Tord Gustavsen is back with his interesting new ensemble. His new quartet consists of Mats Eilerten (acoustic bass) and Tore Brunborg (saxophone) as well as his popular drummer Jarle Vespestad. With traces of inspiration from Scandinavian folk, Carribean music, early blues, gospel and hymns; described as possessing a world of tender lyricism and subtle funkiness, his compositions carry a hypnotic strength and a beautiful delicacy.
