An evening of curiosities and happenings in the lovely setting of the Harcourt Arboretum and its wildflower meadow.

OCM has commissioned composer and creator Tim Hill (Tongues of Fire) to work with musicians and makers Dave Young and Dan Fox (Welfare State) and Martin West, a team also known as Leviathan Whispers. At the Arboretum they create an evening of strange and magical sounds and sights for you to explore and encounter.

Come early to picnic and wander at your leisure and as dusk descends, we gather for a processional journey to welcome the coming of mid-summer. Leviathan Whispers explores the sounds and music of the landscape, the earth and of ancient traditions to invent new ceremonies, celebrations and spaces. Expect giant horns, musical machines, twittering things and a cornucopia of other sonic experiences.

The evening begins with gentle music in the ornamental garden while you picnic. Later the music takes you into the woods and up around the wildflower meadow for a mid-summer procession.
