"Lau have it in themselves to be the most important folk voice since Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span." Music News
The orchestral quality of internationally acclaimed Scottish band Lau, whose compositions are frequently epic in conception and execution, is what marks them out as one of the most exciting new groups currently on the contemporary folk music circuit. Described as a formidable union of three of the finest and most innovative exponents of traditional music in Scotland, Kris Drever, Aiden O’Rourke and Martin Green have won the Best Group Award in the Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2008 and 2009, and were a huge hit at the Oxford Folk Festival earlier this year.
Playing as part of Chipping Norton Theatre’s Cotswold Originals series they will showcase songs from their latest album, Arc Light, thought by critics to be one of the most interesting and engaging albums of 2009.
