Uplifting blend of carols with poems, jazz, urban and African rhythms
An intimate show featuring highly acclaimed Afropean Choir and the theatrical songs of the NOC Choir.
Oxford’s Afropean Choir, formed a few years ago by singer and composer Anita Daulne, is a blend of the western and African world, the urban and the ethnic. Anita brings her African and Belgian roots into the choir which focuses on the use of both voice and body bringing the unique and uplifting sound of polyphony.
“Fantastic blend, sound and visual” Vanessa Woodward – Opera Anywhere
"102nd thing you have to see before you die!" Laura King
NOC sings all kinds of music from mediaeval to modern theatrical songs, ignoring any accompaniments on the way. This night is a miscellany of carols and poems that will raise your spirits before Christmas.
These concerts form part of OCM’s education and outreach programme, presented in collaboration with Artscape and OBMH Spiritual and Pastoral Care Team.
