Wistful songs, electronic innovation and a distilled epic spirit
Efterklang’s first album, Parades, left the music world enraptured by breathtaking panoramas of sound and otherworldly pop songs. Having toured the world with Parades they collaborated with Britten Sinfonia performing their “ambitious vision before an enraptured audience” (The Guardian). The Danish band returns with Magic Chairs, delivering a stripped back sound that exudes warmth and rich melodies. Their trademark sonic ingenuity remains and the restless energy of previous albums has been distilled into heart-warmingly rich pop numbers.
Heather Woods Broderick supports with her dreamy, folk-inspired songs from Portland.
“...it’s as if the listener has stumbled into a forest glad to find welcoming strings, piano, brass and pump organ, serenaded by rich, mellifluous vocals” **** Mojo
