Laurence Colbert brought together a quintet of percussionists and instrumentalists to perform for the Open 2010. In this work he experimented with applying modern architectural attitudes towards composition. By creating flexible musical ‘modules’ he structured an ‘open’ musical composition.
The results are textured, hypnotic and driving. His composition forms part of his final year dissertation for his undergraduate degree at Oxford Brookes University.
"one of the highlights of the evening; a strangely hypnotic, rhythmic melody" Oxford Bands
