OCM is committed to helping artists working in sound to develop, research and expand their practices.

You probably know us for our outdoor events and concerts but you might not be aware of the work we do to help artists working in sound to develop their careers.

Boom is our support scheme for artists and producers wanting to investigate working outdoors, in the public realm, or anywhere beyond the concert hall or gallery. The aim is to help artists expand their ideas and skills and create opportunities to surprise and inspire new audiences to contemporary music and sound.

OCM is particularly interested in work that finds powerful ways to communicate in real or virtual public spaces and creates memorable and meaningful moments in the lives of those that encounter them. Through our own commissions and projects we focus on placing inspiring music and sound based work in places and situations that will reach large and diverse audiences.

We pride ourselves on being more than a producer and presenter and are dedicated to the cultivation of ground-breaking new work by up and coming and established artists through residencies, apprenticeships and joint commissions.

Our professional development work and in particular the Boom scheme is one of the areas that we are fundraising for as part of our campaign to raise £68,000 to be matched by Arts Council England by July.

If you would like to help us to reach this target and make a difference to the musical and cultural landscape you can donate HERE. or you can download our giving leaflet below.
