Singer, composer, poet and video artist Cibelle (pronounced See-bell-ee) uses bossanova and electronics to create her completely distinctive and seductive sound. She also collaborates with some of the UK’s most interesting musicians and producers and in 2004 was nominated for a best newcomer award in the BBC World music awards. Cibelle is big on the underground scene in her native Brazil but now lives and works in London. Comparisons have been made with Bjork and Morcheeba but she has a sound and style of her own.
"Even when her music is most borderless and surreal, Cibelle navigates with a melodic grace that's purely Brazilian"
The New York Times
