The eighth and final event of the University of Oxford’s Slade Lecture Series is a concert at the historic Holywell Music Rooms on 8th March 2006. The event is introduced by Tom Phillips and features a staggering number of world premieres based on his texts, including a substantial work by Harrison Birtwistle “Song of Myself” for viola and baritone and other specially commissioned pieces by Michael Nyman, Julian Anderson, John Woolrich, Robert Saxton, Howard Skempton, Joby Talbot, Brian Eno, Robin Holloway, Gerard McBurney and Tarik O’Regan.

Tom Phillips’ exhibition opens at the Ashmolean Museum on 8th February.
