Siren update: Siren was re-staged for 3 nights in the Shunt
Vaults under London Bridge Station from 17th to 19th January
2007.
Siren took place in a huge disused aircraft hangar in rural
Oxfordshire and was a whirling, spinning spectacle of mechanical
movement, electronic sound and light. The audience was free
to wander and experience the extraordinary aural effects of
these vast sonic machines. Their hypnotic rotating arms traced
circles of light as the performers ducked and dodged to operate
the mass the machinery and spinning oscillators. Siren was
first staged in 2004 but was developed from an earlier piece
“Choir” at Modern Art Oxford in 2001.
