Tango Siempre are masters at moving tango
away from its Come Dancing respectability back to where it
belongs: as close to the fire and passion of its origins as
to the latest innovations in music and dance. Alongside acclaimed
artists like Gotan Project, Tango Siempre are another of this
generation’s carriers and modifiers of the tango gene,
using tango’s driving force to take on new challenges.
This all-new project sees Tango Siempre
return to the OCM programme with specially commissioned music
by Huw Warren and Iain Ballamy (both winners of the BBC Innovation
in Jazz Award). Choreography is by Colombian Myriam Ojeda
Patino, the director of Tiempo de Tango.
