Autumn Season 2008

This Autumn OCM brings you a world of Sonic, innovative and imaginative new musical encounters.

As the night’s draw in, OCM launches a season of autumnal treats and marks our 15 th birthday with a celebration of dusk in Oxford’s Botanic Garden. Inspired by founding director of OCM, David Bass, now working at Oxford University’s Department of Zoology, The Magic Hour will immerse you in the sonic and visual delights of nature’s bedtime.

As winter approaches we get cosy in a variety of Oxford’s lovely spaces for stories of midnight adventures, sumptuous soundscapes from Mexico, traditional tales from Tyneside and delicate Nordic jazz. In October we return to one of Oxford’s most atmospheric buildings, St Barnabas Church, to hear Afro-Cuban jazz from Méta Méta as they team up with Oxford’s own Afropean Choir, a community music group produced by OCM. Meanwhile, OCM keeps busy bringing all this great music to schools and community groups across Oxford, helping to making new music available for all.

We hope you’ll come and try some of our offerings this season.
