The final event in this series of
debates welcomes conductor, Ivor Setterfield
back to Oxford to discuss how music changes
your life. Drawing on testimonies of people
from the Blackbird Leys Estate from their
experience on The Singing Estate and subsequent
events, the debate aims to uncover whether
music really empowers and encourages life
changing possibilities.
Ivor is joined by Head
of Oxfordshire County Music Service, Dick
Hallam MBE, who has been instrumental in
government policy-making on music, and Marc
Jaffrey, Music Manifesto Champion. Singing
tutor, Fiona Dobie, will demonstrate how
music can connect and empower people, and
members of the Blackbird Leys Choir will
share their experiences of music.
