OCM works closely with artists to commission and produce new work, to allow artists to experiment and explore new ways of working.

We present over 30 concerts a year
in a variety of venues around Oxfordshire, from the
Modern Art Oxford Café to the Sheldonian Theatre,
from aircraft hangars in Upper Heyford to the University
of Oxford Botanic Garden.

There are two seasons of events
per year — in the Spring and Autumn. Both include
the OCM@MAO series
(relaxed after-work concerts in the Gallery’s
café) and Slounge multi art-form series.

We have an education and outreach programme which takes musicians and groups from the season into schools, community centres, day centres, Oxford’s two universities and many other places.

We are Oxford City Council’s Music Development Partner, which means we work on schemes to help the music sector in Oxford to grow and flourish.

OCM is supported by Arts Council England, Oxford City Council and Oxford Brookes University as well are receiving funding from the PRS Foundation and many others.

In 2005 OCM initiated a commissioning network in the South East called RealiSE Live, with South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell and Turner Sims Concert Hall.

OCM is a limited company and a registered
charity. We have 8 trustees, from a range of backgrounds
including the media, arts management, education, fundraising
and finance, all with a keen interest in contemporary
music. They are: Dai Griffiths (chair), Sally Taylor,
Alison Meyric-Hughes,, Ed McKeon, Nigel Bird, Nick Giles
and Fiona Maddocks.

We have a close association with Oxford Brookes University and run a work placement module for between 4 -6 students each term where they learn about the work of OCM and the wider music sector.

We could not do what we do without the enthusiasm and dedication of our band of volunteers. At present there are 46 people who help us out with stewarding, publicity distribution and a range of other jobs.
